About Chatter Champs

Let's connect

Welcome to Chatter Champs! We provide virtual and in-home therapy services to families in the Hamilton and surrounding areas. As a mobile private practice, we travel to you, delivering services in the comfort of your home. This allows for natural environment learning and is a great fit for many families. We take pride in working collaboratively with families to support children in reaching their potential, enhancing their communication skills, and addressing  speech and language challenges. Our commitment to a total communication approach ensures that every child receives the personalized care they need.


Getting started: 

  1. Contact us: Send us a message through the contact form on the website, give us a call, or send us an email. 
  2. Consultation: We will schedule a phone call to discuss services and set up a profile for your child. 
  3. Consent and Intake: Complete online forms to start services. 
  4. Assessment: Our SLPs will assess your child to set goals. 
  5. Therapy: Start scheduling therapy sessions with one of our SLPs or CDAs.

Speech sound disorders encompass various challenges, including articulation, phonology, and motor speech disorders. Therapy often emphasizes correcting sound production to enhance speech clarity. Various approaches to therapy can be used based on your child's needs. A home practice component is often recommended to encourage generalization of skills.

 We work with many children who stutter to increase their confidence when communicating. Therapy includes expanding knowledge about fluency shaping strategies and stuttering modification strategies, ultimately with the goal of increasing positive communication behaviours.

Early language development encompasses both receptive and expressive language skills. These early developing skills are crucial for children as they begin to express their wants and needs. Children who are late talkers might benefit from speech therapy intervention to support speech development.

We work with children who have an autism diagnosis. We use a neuro-diversity affirming and total communication approach to support children develop their communication skills in meaningful ways. Therapy may focus on expressive language, receptive language, gestalt language processing, use of AAC, joint attention and play skills, and/or speech and fluency.

AAC includes both low tech and high tech devices. These devices plays a crucial role in helping individuals with communication difficulties express themselves. Our clinicians can provide support when introducing a new AAC system or if a system is already in place.
