Assessments allow us to determine individual strengths/needs and set goals before starting speech therapy. These are completed by registered Speech-Language Pathologists. Clients who have recent assessment reports from a different provider (within 6 months) may not need a new assessment if their goals remain relevant. Re-assessments can be completed every 6 months or as necessary.
Treatment sessions focus on implementation of strategies to target goals, including parent training components. Intervention may be completed by a Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) or Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) as deemed appropriate for your child.
Speech-language pathology services are typically covered under most health insurance plans. Receipts will be provided for reimbursement. Please contact your health insurance provider to confirm if your plan covers speech therapy. Speech therapy services are also eligible for reimbursement through Ontario Autism Program (OAP) funding.
